On April 16, around 8:00 pm, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 800 Block of Congaree Church Road after reports of a stolen lottery ticket.
Upon arrival, officers heard a single gunshot from inside the residence and saw the defendant fleeing the scene through the backyard with a gun in his hand, reported WCJB.
Williams was arrested, while Flemming, who was shot in the upper body, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The defendant is currently incarcerated at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.
