An El Paso man, 47-year-old Antonio Rodriguez, was arrested and charged with the murder of an unidentified man in his 20s after running him over with his car, police say.
Around 9 pm on March 2, the El Paso Police Department responded to the 700 Block of North Piedras Street near Wyoming Avenue after reports of a traffic collision with a pedestrian. Upon arrival, first responders rushed the man, whom authorities are yet to identify, to a nearby hospital, where the victim succumbed to his injuries, according to KFOX14.
Later, investigators discovered the unidentified man was a passenger in Rodriguez’s car when an altercation ensued between the two men. Authorities believe after the victim exited the defendant’s car, Rodriguez ran him over intentionally before fleeing the scene. The defendant was arrested the next day.
Rodiguez is being held at the El Paso County Jail on a $500,000 bond while awaiting trial.
