A North Carolina woman, Ebonee Makeesa Rhaman, 43, was arrested and charged with the shooting death of 42-year-old Lashunda Shmicka Mclendon, police say.
Rhaman was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. According to WBTV, around 10 am on Friday, Dec. 13, officers responded to the 300 block of Archdale Drive after reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, authorities found Mclendon at the location of the shooting with a gunshot wound. However, despite the life-saving measures by first responders, the victim succumbed to her injuries at the crime scene.
The motive behind the killing remains unclear, and the investigation regarding the case remains active.
Rhaman is currently being held at the Mecklenburg County Jail while awaiting trial.
