An Ohio man who killed his ex-girlfriend’s mother three days after she broke up with him will spend decades behind bars.
Summit County retired visiting Judge James Kimbler sentenced Antonio Miller, 27, to life in prison with the possibility of parole for the shooting death of 50-year-old Tina Case. A jury convicted Miller of aggravated murder with a gun specification, two counts of murder with gun specifications, and second-degree felonious assault with a gun specification.
“Antonio Miller is a dangerous person who ambushed a beloved mother while she sat in her car. He
deserves to spend the rest of his life behind bars. My hope is today’s sentence brings some justice and
peace to Tina Case’s family,” said Prosecutor Kolkovich, according to Summit County Prosecutors’ Office.
On April 7, 2022, officers responded to the driveway of a home on the 600 Block of Koerber Avenue in Kenmore, where they found Case dead in the driver seat of her vehicle. An autopsy report showed the victim had been shot multiple times.
According to prosecutors, three days before the fatal incident, the victim’s daughter, Danielle Case, who had been dating Miller on and off for 5 years, broke off their relationship. Unbeknown to the victim, who was sitting in her vehicle parked in her driveway, she was ambushed by the defendant, shooting her multiple times.
During the investigation, authorities retrieved security camera video footage linking Miller to the crime scene. As a result, an arrest warrant was issued, leading U.S. Marshals and Akron Police to track the defendant five months later at a residence in the 500 Block of Rosyln Ave.
Danielle told authorities she believed her mom was not the intended target.
Miller will be eligible for parole after serving a minimum of 36 years in prison.
