Two suspects, including a teen, have been arrested and charged for the murder of 16-year-old Julian Keel, authorities say.

Recently, 20-year-old Tonie Wilson and an unidentified 16-year-old, because of his age, were arrested for murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and other related charges.

“I promise you we would clear this case. We would arrest those responsible for 'Juju's killing, and that's happened. I thank you for sticking beside us a long time,” said Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook, according to News 19.

During the early hours of June 2, Columbia police officers responded to the 1400 block of Colonial Life Boulevard, off Bush River Road, after reports of shots fired.

According to The State, a fight had broken out in the parking lot of Roll-Out Wangz, Eggrollz and Thangz Bar and Restaurant. Wilson and the unidentified teen had an ongoing argument that allegedly stemmed from a previous location to the graduation party at the restaurant. Both suspects were on opposing sides with their groups when Keel, who was not a part of the altercation, tried to leave when he was fatally shot.

The 16-year-old defendant was on probation wearing an ankle monitor bracelet for a previous charge of car theft during the shooting.

Investigators recovered more than 50 spent shell casings at the crime scene and seized four weapons, including a 300-blackout assault rifle, which they believe is the murder weapon.

Keel was a star three-sport athlete at Keenan High School at the time of his demise.
