Taylor McAllister's friends called her love contagious. Someone who was one of a kind and loved to laugh until that energy was dimmed upon her death.

“She deserves justice for what was done to her. We deserve it, her girls deserve it, our family. Someone has to be held accountable one way or another,” said McAllister’s father, Bill McAllister, according to Spectrum News.

On Dec. 22, 2016, McAllister’s body had been discovered in an alley after authorities found out her lover and two other friends had been responsible for dumping her there. Upon further investigation, McAllister’s boyfriend told authorities he had returned home to find her unconscious. As a result, he called two other friends to help rush her to the hospital. However, 22-year-old McAllister died on the way, and they panicked, hence deciding to abandon her in the alley on 63rd Avenue South in St. Petersburg.

Investigators discovered McAllister had been fatally strangled, thereby ruling the death a homicide.  After chasing several leads, investigators hit a dead end and could not make any arrests. As a result, the case went cold.

McAllister’s drug abuse and history are not lost on her family and friends who loved her. The victim's road to recovery had been rocky since she started experimenting with drugs as a teenager. At some point, McAllister successfully became sober, primarily through her pregnancy, before giving birth to a set of twins. According to her parents, Bill and Leslie McAllister, her prescription of Percocet catalyzed her relapse and drug abuse.

Project: Cold Case, a non-profit organization, has embarked on placing cards of unsolved murders in jails across the state of Florida.

Family members remain hopeful that one day, her killer will be identified and arrested.

"It gives you a little more hope, and maybe that one person will see that card and just say hey, I know this about this case, and that might be just the one tip that we need," said Leslie McAllister, reported ABC Action News.

If anyone has any information that would help identify McAllister’s killer, please get in touch with call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS.
