It’s been 12 years of agony without closure for Julia Majette’s family since her demise in 2013. The mother of three was shot to death in the presence of her young children at the home she shared with her husband, Daunte Vance.

Her family described the 25-year-old Majette as a loving mother and a hard worker. She loved music and often performed as a DJ at events to earn extra cash, reported Project: Cold Case.

Around 8 pm on June 12, 2013, two men gained entry into the residence along the 700 Block of North Thompson Drive. Soon, Majette’s aunt and uncle, Mark and Patricia Cherry, who had been sleeping in their basement, heard gunshots and the children screaming.

The victim succumbed to the gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of investigators following up on every lead, they hit a dead end. As a result, the Madison Police Department (MPD) has not been able to identify and arrest any suspect since the fatal incident.

“The Madison Police Department is committed to holding those responsible for Julie's death accountable”, according to the Madison Police Department.

If anyone has any information that would help identify Majette’s killer, please call Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014 or online at p3tips.com. Information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward, which can also be collected anonymously.
