Quenton Marselles Brown, who is the father of Boston Celtics shooting guard or small forward Jaylen Brown, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, police say.
On Wednesday, the Las Vegas Police Metropolitan Department (LVMPD) responded to the parking lot of the All American Park on Buffalo Drive near Charleston Boulevard in Las Vegas after reports of a stabbing incident. According to CNN, the 57-year-old Brown had dinged the car of a man in the parking lot, which soon led to an altercation. Then, the defendant pulled a metal object that looked like a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times before the LVMPD arrived on the scene.
First responders rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, where officials stated his condition as critical. The victim had suffered stab wounds to his back, upper right chest, and penetration through his tendons as he defended himself. Furthermore, a partial gastrectomy will be needed to remove some of his digestive tract, and a surgery to repair his broken right rib.
Brown was also taken to the University Medical Center (UMC) of Southern Nevada, where investigators seized the defendant’s blood-soaked clothing for evidence.
Brown is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center with a set bail of $300,000. Upon release, the defendant must wear an ankle monitor.
