A Boston man, 36-year-old Kevin Boyette, was recently arrested and charged with the murder of 21-year-old Tatyiana Flood. Boyette was charged with first-degree murder and had since pleaded not guilty at his arraignment, authorities say.

On the early morning of May 20, officers responded to 20 Annunciation Road, where they found Flood’s body outside an apartment complex.

According to authorities, the defendant was captured on video footage from a security camera beating Flood with a hammer inside a parked jeep ten hours before her body was discovered.

“The suspect exits rear driver side of the vehicle and can be seen pulling an unconscious, seemingly unconscious motionless body of the victim out of the vehicle. The body does fall to the ground at which time the suspect can be seen delivering a kick to the body,” said prosecutor Ben Sabol at the Roxbury District Court during Boyette’s arraignment, reported Boston 25 News.

Boyette was held without bail while the investigation by the Boston Police Department’s (BPD) Homicide Unit remains active.  The motive for the killing remains unclear.
