A Duncanville man will never walk free again after killing his ex-girlfriend on the side of the highway.
36-year-old Terek Herron-Antone was sentenced by a Tuscaloosa County judge to life without the possibility of parole for the shooting death of 27-year-old Syibrieka Underwood. Though Herron-Antone first trial ended in a mistrial, the defendant was convicted of one count of murder, and certain persons were forbidden to possess a firearm.
On July 26, 2021, Alabama State troopers patrolling Highway 82 East in Duncanville spotted an abandoned vehicle with a passenger around 8 am. Upon a closer check of the occupant, authorities realized the passenger was a woman who was unresponsive due to a gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene.
Later, the victim was identified as Underwood.
According to Tuscaloosa Thread, the victim had been in a romantic relationship with Herron-Antone in the past. Furthermore, another of Herron-Antone’s ex-girlfriends testified that the defendant confessed to Underwood’s murder to her on the day of the fatal incident.
The motive for the killing remains unclear.
