A Canadian woman, Sabrina Kauldhar, 30, who killed three innocent people within three days, has been arrested and charged with murder, authorities say. Kauldhar was charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder.
“I think by definition she is a serial killer. Two or more offenses, so by definition, I think that’s a fair comment,” said Niagara Regional Police Chief Bill Fordy, according to People.
On Oct 1, Toronto police officers responded to a residence after receiving a distress call. Upon their arrival, they found a woman in her 60s unresponsive with visible marks of trauma on her body. While the investigation remains active, the next day, officers responded to John Allan Park in Niagara Falls, where they found 47-year-old Lance Cunningham with serious injuries.
Despite every life-saving measure made by first responders, the victim died at the scene. Then, on Oct 3, authorities found 77-year-old Mario Bilich unresponsive in a parking lot in Hamilton. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds. A neighbor’s security footage captured a woman following Bilich, a retired teacher.
Soon, investigators linked the crime scene in Hamilton and Niagara due to the similar description of the perpetrator. Photos of the defendant had been distributed to the public, and they showed a large, short woman wearing a head wrap and baggy clothes. As a result, they believe both victims were targeted at random. However, after linking the Toronto homicide to Kauldhar, authorities believe the defendant knew the first victim.
Later that evening, the defendant was arrested at a hotel in Burlington, Ontario.
“This is a horrific series of incidents that have left our community shaken and in mourning,” stated Fordy in a statement reported by The New York Times.
Investigators are in the process of identifying a woman caught on CCTV buying the clothes found in Kauldhar’s possession.
