A Florida woman killed her boyfriend after a heated argument. Now, she will spend the rest of her days behind bars.
Last week, Walton County Circuit Judge Kelvin Wells handed Jennifer Marie Greer, 45, a life term in prison without the possibility of parole for the shooting death of her boyfriend, Daniel Jones. Greer was convicted of second-degree murder.
On Nov. 5, 2021, Walton County Sheriff's Department responded to Pointe of View Condominiums in Miramar Beach after reports of a homicide at the complex. Upon arrival, they found Jones dead at the scene with multiple gunshots.
According to WEAR News, the victim’s roommate had seen Jones and Greer in a heated argument. As a result, he decided to take a walk in the parking lot. Soon, the roommate saw the defendant leaving the apartment in a hurry. Then, he returned to the apartment, where he found Jones’ body on the floor.
Later, Greer was arrested by Okaloosa County deputies and handed to Walton County investigators. During an initial interview, the defendant told investigators Jones’ ex-girlfriend had committed the homicide. However, authorities retrieved video footage of Greer leaving the apartment complex and tossing away an object. Officers traced the location on the video and found the gun, which was later determined to be the murder weapon.
The State Attorney’s Office for the First Judicial Circuit of Florida prosecuted the case.
