A Georgia man robbed a pregnant teen and her boyfriend of some marijuana. Then, he killed them in cold blood just hours before Thanksgiving Day.
Henry County Superior Court Judge Pandora E. Palmer sentenced Aljahon Antwan Joyner, 20, to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the shooting death of Savannah Fulmer, 18, and her boyfriend, Dahmir Robinson, 19. Joyner pleaded guilty to two counts of malice murder, felony murder, feticide, aggravated assault, armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and one count of possession of a firearm by a person under the age of 18.
On Nov. 27, 2019, officers responded to the cul-de-sac on the 1700 Block of New Orleans Way in the City Square neighborhood in McDonough. A resident had found the couple’s body in the car with gunshot wounds to their heads. Later, investigators discovered text messages between the defendant, Fulmer, and Robinson in agreement for a drug buy. But, unbeknown to the couple, Joyner had no intention of buying marijuana but to rob them.
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Joyner had been sitting in Fulmer’s car when he shot both Robinson and his 18-year-old pregnant girlfriend in the head before fleeing the scene. As a result, Fulmer’s unborn child also died. Soon, authorities arrested Joyner.
Fulmer was a senior at Eagle’s Landing High School and played softball.
“Savannah was one of the most memorable kids I will ever coach. She always did everything I asked of her, not always with a smile, but always with respect,” said Fulmer’s coach Brittany Lewis, reported WSB-TV.
On the other hand, Robinson was a 2019 graduate of Woodland High School and had been in a relationship with Fulmer for three years.
Palmer sentenced Joyner to additional 25 years in prison for the charge of possession of a firearm by a person underage. At the time of the homicide, the defendant was 17 years old.
