A New York man and 5-9 Brim street gang member who killed a rival associate will never walk free again.

United States District Judge Pamela K. Chen handed Marvin Pippins, a.k.a. “Mukk, a life term in federal prison for the brutal and shooting death of Sean Peart. After a 3 week's trial, Pippins was found guilty and convicted by a jury of racketeering conspiracy, murder conspiracy, murder in aid of racketeering, drug conspiracy, unlawful possession of a firearm, and other charges.

“Marvin Pippins will deservedly spend the rest of his life in prison for this cold-blooded murder, undertaken in service of a years-long gang war. Pippins committed predatory and deadly crimes on behalf of a violent street gang that, for years, polluted the streets with drugs, preyed on unsuspecting victims of financial fraud, and subjected rivals and innocent civilians alike to acts of violence.  My Office is focused on dismantling violent criminal organizations, and today’s sentence should send a message that the most serious of crimes will be met with the most serious of consequences,” said Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, Carolyn Pokorny, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

On Dec. 19, 2015,  Pippins, who was resolved to avenge the murder of his brother, Melvin Pippins, a.k.a. “Melly,”  had spotted Peart, a member of a rival gang “Real Ryte,” sitting in a car outside the Weeksville Gardens housing development on Dean Street. Unbeknownst to the unarmed victim, the defendant approached Peart and shot him multiple times. Though the victim attempted to flee the scene, Peart crashed his vehicle and succumbed to his injuries.

An autopsy report showed the victim was shot 6 times. According to prosecutors, Pippins believed Peart was responsible for his brother’s death and bragged to his fellow gang members, admitting he killed the victim. Furthermore, Pippins, in rap lyrics, described the details of the homicide, referring to the victim “hanging out the window” and giving him “shot after shot.”

However, authorities discovered Peart had been in California when Melvin was killed, reported Brooklyn Daily Eagle.

Chen sentenced Pippin to an additional concurrent 30 years for the racketeering conspiracy charge and 5 years consecutively for the unlawful possession of a firearm charge.
