An Edmonton man, 31-year-old Daniel Boothman, was arrested and charged with the murder of 43-year-old Ashley Burke, police say. Boothman was charged with second-degree murder, according to CTV News.
On Dec. 30, around 4:45 pm, police officers responded to Quesnell Bridge near Whitemud Park where they found Burke’s body along the river in west Edmonton. Though her death was determined a homicide after an autopsy, authorities remain mum on the cause of death since the investigation is still ongoing.
According to investigators, the defendant and the victim knew each other, and as a result, the case was classified as an intimate partner homicide.
