A Duluth man killed a teen escort after a heated argument over her payment. Now, he will never walk free again.

A Gwinett County judge sentenced Timothy James Krueger, 51, to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the brutal stabbing death of 19-year-old Sarai Llanos Gomez. After two hours of deliberation, Krueger was found guilty and convicted by a jury of malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault.

"This was a cruel, brutal way for this young woman to die. Ms. Llanos Gomez has two children who are motherless. This defendant was cold and calculating, and the jury’s swift verdict will deliver much-deserved justice to Ms. Llanos Gomez and to her family and loved ones," said Gwinnett County District Attorney Patsy Austin-Gatson, according to FOX 5.

On June 20, 2022, Hall County neighborhood homeowners called 911 to report a dead body in the wooded area near the residential area. Upon arrival of the police, they found the victim’s body with multiple stab wounds and later identified her as Gomez. Later, investigators used the victim’s cellphone records and data to track her last location, the defendant’s home.

According to ANF, on June 16, 2022, Krueger requested an escort he patronized regularly, but Gomez showed up instead. Soon, an argument ensued between the duo about her payment. In her attempt to leave the premises, the victim grabbed a knife from the kitchen but was overpowered by Krueger before stabbing her multiple times and slitting her throat. Then, the defendant cut her clothes off, wrapped her in a blanket, put her in his car, and dumped her in the wooded area where authorities found her.

Later, investigators also retrieved a Hall County neighbor’s doorbell camera video footage that showed Krueger’s car in the vicinity where Gomez’s body was found. Krueger also confessed to the killing during his interview with investigators.

During the trial, Krueger claimed he committed the act in self-defense, but the jury didn’t believe him.
